Chiefs: UDFAs Who Will Make the Roster

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed a number of Undrafted Free Agents – UDFAs — but only a few will make the final cut. Sure there will be others to stick, but here’s my take on the ones who will make the final 53, initially.

Jake Briningstool wasn’t drafted because of his seasonal stats. JB was a 4-star recruit who finished his college career at Clemson with a record 127 catches, but I wouldn’t expect him to take over for Travis Kelce anytime soon. Briningstool is in no way a versatile player having zero runs and passes like Travis Kelce. That is also very likely the reason he was not a drafted prospect. I’m sure you’re all aware that I was not a fan of of letting Safety Justin Reid walk away in free agency. However, that doesn’t have much to do with the Chiefs keeping Will Brooks. Brooks had 4 INTS last season and two of those were pick-sixes. He played 300 of his 588 at free safety and although he runs a sow 40 at 4.58, he has good instincts and is an intelligent player.
